DG press coordinates the moving of a fully operational VSOP-850 hybrid offset press from Colombia to Eastern Europe, with local transporter and packer, Agelvis E.U.
Part of our service involves commissioning and reselling used presses. Plafilm, our Colombian customer, approached us several months ago to help him sell his VSOP-850 machine, which had been on sale for quite some time. Knowing our customers so well, our Service Manager, Frank Stoelinga, immediately made a connection with a Bulgarian company in our portfolio that was looking to expand its machinery to also print flexible packaging.
A quick recap of the swift transaction mediation
Frank Stoelinga, along with the Bulgarian customer, visited Plafilm in Cali, Colombia to inspect the machine. The visit by Frank and the customer to Colombia was successful, resulting in the purchase of Plafilm’s VSOP through DG press.
The press was sold in an “as-is, where-is” condition, including dismantling in Colombia, installation, and training in Bulgaria. DG press was responsible for the dismantling, which was carried out promptly with the assistance of two DG press personnel and a technician provided by the buyer. Transportation and packing was a major project. The services of local transporter and packer, Agelvis e.u. was enlisted, with whom our foreman Rob Hoogkamp coordinated the packing. Rob speaks of a great collaboration with the Agelvis team. All in all, it was a significant order for all parties involved, and we look forward to commissioning another VSOP at our other customer’s facility in Bulgaria.
