Customer case: Van Oordt – Future-proof food packaging production with the DG-AUXO
Challenge & Solution
From outdated machinery to future-proof production
Van Oordt’s machinery was in need of renewal. To respond to both higher production demands and stricter sustainability targets, modernisation became inevitable. With the purchase of a DG-AUXO hybrid web offset printing press, Van Oordt invested in flexibility, efficiency and better working conditions for operators.
The DG-AUXO – the answer to complex requirements
Van Oordt was looking for a solution that could not only replace old technology, but also set new standards in terms of efficiency, durability and ease of operation. Based on their specific production needs, DG press recommended the DG-AUXO as the most forward-looking choice.
The DG-AUXO combines:
- Modular design with advanced web offset technology
- Compact design with intuitive operation
- Unmatched printing precision, fast start-up and low set-up costs
- Lower energy consumption and less start-up material, reducing the ecological footprint
- Great flexibility to handle different paper substrates and formats effortlessly
Ergonomics also played a crucial role. The packaging industry requires machines that assist operators by limiting the impact of both intensive and repetitive operations. Thanks to sleeve technology and an innovative sleeve change tool, the DG-AUXO ensures a safe and operator friendly working environment, while eliminating any possible physical strain.

Implementation process
Seamless cooperation from sales to installation
When selecting the new printing press, it was essential that it met Van Oordt’s specific requirements. The process from sale to full commissioning was structured and remained on schedule thanks to close cooperation between the two parties. From initial discussions to completion of the installation, DG press worked closely with Van Oordt using a multidisciplinary project team approach consisting of Sales, Project Engineering, Service and After Sales. A dedicated project manager ensured that Van Oordt could contact the right specialist at any time, making the process transparent and effective. In addition, Van Oordt was actively informed during the construction phase through updates, photos and regular site visits to check progress.
Quality assurance via FAT
During the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), the machine was staged and extensively tested on site at DG press. Van Oordt’s operators were on site for three days to see the machine in action, become familiar with the technology and provide feedback. The FAT was an important benchmark in the process: fulfilling all the set requirements on all fronts. This test went beyond a technical check; together with Van Oordt, it verified whether the machine fully met the specific requirements. The FAT went flawlessly and confirmed not only the high quality of the DG-AUXO , but also the careful preparation by DG press. This moment marks the synergy between technical craftsmanship and precision engineering – a proud moment for both the DG press and Van Oordt teams.
Installation, SAT and operator training
Disassembly, transport and reassembly at Van Oordt followed, where the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) took place with our own materials and products to ensure that everything functioned optimally. Thanks to meticulous planning and tight coordination between DG press engineers and the Van Oordt team, this phase also went off without a hitch. To ensure a flying start, DG press’s Senior Service Engineer provided three weeks of on-the-job training and support. This hands-on learning process enabled the operators to quickly become familiar with the machine, enabling them to use it efficiently from day one.
“DG press is all about innovation, quality and cooperation. Our structured and transparent approach to implementations ensures that customers
can effortlessly switch to advanced printing technology. The successful implementation of the DG-AUXO at Van Oordt is a perfect example of this.” – DG press
A project with an exceptional pace
What makes this project extra special is the unprecedentedly tight timeline. Within just 11 months, the DG-AUXO was designed, built, tested and installed, an impressive achievement, made possible by outstanding cooperation and a goal-oriented approach.
Future-proof cooperation
With the successful completion of this project, the DG-AUXO machine once again proves its strength as a flexible and future-proof solution. Even following installation, DG press remains closely involved. Thanks to remote monitoring, possible malfunctions can be detected and resolved quickly, so that production can always be maintained at full capacity. In addition, a technician will periodically visit Van Oordt during the year to carry out any necessary small improvements or updates.
